The world celebrated International Women’s Day on Wednesday, and Brie Larson showed solidarity by wearing red at the premiere of her new film „Kong: Skull Island“ in Los Angeles that evening. Stylist Christina Ehrlich chose a gown from Oscar de la Renta, which was made from a similar material from the house’s Fall 2017 collection. It’s clear that Larson and Ehrlich are huge fans of newly hired creative director duo Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia: The actress wore a custom Oscar de la Renta black velvet gown at this year’s Oscars, as well as a Monse gown (also in velvet, but Tumblr pink) at last year’s Vanity Fair after-party when Larson was awarded an Oscar for her leading role in „Room.“ Though her press tour for „Kong“ has been a solid mix of labels — including Erdem, Carven and Derek Lam — we have a feeling we’ll be seeing much more of Larson wearing Kim and Garcia’s designs in the future.
On Instagram, the actress shared her support for the global movement: „Although I have to work today (along with others). I will be standing in solidarity, with menstrual cramps,“ she wrote. „Here’s to women. Whatever your race, religion, sexual orientation, bank account amount or documentation — I will spend the rest of my life working to raise you up.“ Aside Larson’s stunning red carpet looks, this is just another reason why we love her.
