The football boot hailed as the best ever by many in the game deserves an ambassador to match. So it makes perfect sense that Adidas has enlisted the beautiful game’s biggest name for the re-release of the Predator Precision. No, not Ian Holloway, but David Beckham.
England’s ex-skipper shot the boots to fame during the Euro 2000 tournament, and it’s only fair to assume that he’ll come full circle with the sports brand’s limited batch of reissued kicks.
The famous fold-over tongue is back, along with the grooved uppers that supposedly help you bend it like Beckham did against Greece in 2002. The big difference this time is the inclusion of a lighter sole plate taken from modern Adidas designs, a hack that results in a more featherweight boot.
The cost of upgrading your Sunday league performance? A cool £299, which is pretty steep if you’re not on a premiership pay packet. But for those willing to cough up, the Adidas Predator Precisions are available from September 8 at select stores and online.
